Nitrocellulose for the production of industrial explosives

Nitrocellulose DL is a classic raw material for the production of gelatinised industrial explosives. Synthesia Nitrocellulose manufactures and offers nitrocellulose DL in a quality that best suits the needs and requirements of industrial explosive manufacturers. For this reason, almost all customers have individual quality specifications. The specifications listed on this website are only examples.

Quality parameters

  • We use the Höppler method to determine the viscosity of our nitrocellulose.
  • The basic method for determining the stability of nitrocellulose is the Bergmann-Junk test at a temperature of 132°C. The use of other methods depends on individual agreement.
  • We can change a number of other quality parameters (nitrogen content, pulping, viscosity, water content, etc.) according to individual customer requirements.
  • Nitrocellulose is a hazardous substance. To limit its hazardous properties, it is necessary (in accordance with international regulations) to maintain a certain level of moisture in the material. Nitrocellulose must therefore be kept moist during transport and storage (the moisture content must not fall below 25%).
  • Nitrocellulose DL manufactured by Synthesia Nitrocellulose is moistened with water.

Moistening

The moisture content is around 30%, but can be adjusted to individual customer requirements.
